New training class for submarine crews
A new training management and information system (TMIS) has been commissioned by VT Flagship, the company tasked with delivering the training facility for Britain’s new Astute Class submarine fleet at Faslane, Scotland.
VT Flagship has appointed LINE Communications group to create the necessary TMIS for crews, which will integrate all the major functions of VT’s training facility for the Royal Navy’s new submarine fleet. The training facility and services, which have been purchased under the UK’s Private Finance Initiative (PFI), uses off-the-shelf components to achieve customised training and information capabilities.
LINE believe that the new system will become a benchmark in the sector. It is intended to deliver consistent efficiency at VT’s training facility and will ensure that the reporting of data is managed correctly.
